Currently, Korea is maintaining the number one position in terms of foreign direct investment in Vietnam, with over 80 billion USD as of September 2022, ranked second among the countries providing ODA to Vietnam with 2,7 billion USD from 2012 to 2020 and ranked third in terms of trade, with bilateral trade turnover increasing in recent years despite the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, aiming for 100 billion USD by 2023 and 150 billion USD by 2030.

Particularly in Long An, FDI inflows from Korea have continuously increased over the years, and existing Korean projects in Long An have also been continuously expanded in size and investment capital. Currently, Korea ranks second among nearly 40 countries and territories investing in Long An, with a total registered capital of nearly 900 million USD.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc said that this conference is part of a series of investment promotion activities of Long An with Korean businesses on the occasion of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations establishment between Vietnam and Korea. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for Long An and Korean agencies, businesses and investors to enhance information exchange, thereby, promoting investment cooperation in the province, contributing to promoting economic relations, investment, trade and tourism, increasing the value of export and import turnover.
